DMVAP-I

Study of cocaine vapor spectra in DMA (Differential Mobility Analyzer) equipment coupled to a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (MS) for customs detection.

The DMVAP-I project, with dossier 05/19/VA/5, has achieved the expected objectives by achieving thecomplete characterization of the target compound, having validated the method in a real environment. The DMVAP-I project has been co-financed by the ERDF, Thematic Objective 1, which seeks to promotetechnological development, innovation and quality research.

Proof of concept for the online detection of illicit substances in people/belongings in maritime facilities through the implementation of a new concept of vapor screening.

Funded by: Ports4.0 / Puertos del Estado.

Development of a rapid, economical, non-invasive and automatic system for detecting illicit substances in passengers, port operators and crew, as well as their luggage and belongings, using vapor detection techniques. Illegal substances include drugs, explosives and other dangerous substances such as chemical agents and toxic gases. The inspection is based on the non-intrusive aspiration of the air surrounding the object/person to be scanned and the real-time analysis of that air sample that allows detecting trace-level concentrations of illicit substances in seconds. The designed scanner is very versatile, and can be installed at any point in the port facilities for the control of regular line passengers or cruise passengers.
